Anambra 2025: Industrialist Backs Governor Soludo’s Re-Election Bid, Declares For State House Of Assembly Seat

An Industrialist, the MD, SIWO Network, Hon. Sylvester Okafor, on Monday backs Governor Charles Soludo’s re-election bid as he declared for the State House of Assembly Seat for Onitsha South 1 Constituency.

Making the declaration at Agulu Town Hall in Fegge, Onitsha South Local Government Area, Hon Okafor who is also a politician stated that his priority for now is the re-election of Governor Charles Soludo

“I have an ambition to aspire for the seat of Anambra state House of Assembly and my priority for now is to deliver the governor, that is why I am mobilising people of my community to see that we deliver our governor who is performing credibly, you can see more than 15 roads were constructed in Fegge, in the last 2 to 3 years, roads in Onitsha were dilapidated.

The governor has done a lot in the area of roads and Onitsha South has benefitted a lot from this present administration, we are very happy for the governor and I believe in this coming election, it is going to be 4 plus 4

“I advice everyone of us to mobilize for the coming election because the governor has done a lot in Anambra State. He further appeal to the governor for the equipping of the already constructed general hospital in Fegge for services and to also beep up the existing security in the state

Okafor who is a stakeholder in the area, lauded the local government Chairman for ensuring that sanitation work is continuous by clearing of drainages and wastes from the roads as he said that cleanliness is next to godliness

The employer of labour who was the former Councillor Fegge Ward 1, in 1996 has contributed a lot in developmental projects like maintenance of dilapidated roads in Fegge; Creek Road, Onuora Ikeme and construction of culvert at Ihiala/Ozubulu Street all in Fegge.

“I have organized football tournaments, that is prize winning unity cup competition for the youths in the four communities in Onitsha south, I did it to catch the youths young in sporting activities and to ensure they were gainfully busy, I have also organized street to street match in fegge in 1989/90 and a price was also given to the winners.

“I have also sponsored youths in my name (SIWO Cup) to represent in Oba benin cup in Benin, a football competition where they represented Anambra state, my club then represented Anambra state challenge cup and they defeated Gabros football club Nnewi and able to defeat the whole clubs in Anambra.

“We represented Anambra state in Oshogbo, Osun state and other sponsored competitions even with their hotel accomodations, feedings and others. I have received a national award at Youths Sports Federation of Nigeria, YSFN, in 1990. I also gives water freely to the community

In his remarks, the Onitsha South local government Mayor, Hon.Chief Emeka Orji emphasized on Okafor’s immense contributions in the area and other numerous achievements.

He collaborated with Hon Okafor that our governor has done tremendously well in our local government and we need to appreciate him by re-electing him come November 8 guber election.

Contributing, the Onitsha South Local Government APGA Chairman, Hon Uche Umeh thanked Okafor for mobilizing people and charged others to emulate him.

Present at the event were immediate Past President, Ohaneze Ndigbo Anambra State Chapter, Chief Chukwuemeka Udodeme, the Secretary to Onitsha South local government, Barr Paul Onuachalla, Legal Adviser to the Onitsha South local government Mayor, Barr Stanley Okafor

Others were the President General,PG, Fegge Community, Chief Okwudili Obinwune, Special Adviser to the Mayor on Political Matters, Comrade Dunu Chiadikobi among others.
