The Secretariat of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE),Imo State Chapter along ever busy Owerri- Port Harcourt express road came alive again within week after months of being deserted as National Industrial Court sitting in Owerri and presided over  by  Honourable Justice I. S Galadima quashed out an interim order restraining Comrade Richard Eze led state union leadership from parading themselves until the substantive case is determined and restored his leadership as the authentic and certified leadership of the union while the issues are still pending in the Court.

According to 3 paged an “Enrolled  Court Order” emanating from the suit number NICN/OW/2021, the court stated its order restraining the purported caretaker committee,  their agent or proxy not to interfer or disrupt any activity of Comrade Richard Eze led leadership as the substantive and validly elected officers of NULGE Imo State chapter pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.

The court in its ruling equally set aside an application by the purported caretaker committee demanding to take over the administration and leadership of NULGE, Imo State noting the application as ultra vires, recognizing the fact that the tenure of Comrade Richard Eze’s led executives have not yet expired as validly elected officers of the union.
The court also ordered that the defendants/respondents, that is Sylvester Okafor, Precious Njoku, Amadi Ebeleogu, Ndubuisi Uchehara, Nicholas Uba, Ikechukwu Okoronkwo and Uzoma Ekeanyanwu.

Others include Comrade Ahmed Labbo(President of NULGE), Aguonye Chukwuemeka(General Secretary NULGE) and Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) are to be served the pending motion on notice of the suit within 24 hours of making the order.
