Forgoing every unforeseen circumstances the seeming endless legal tussle over the authentic winner of 2019 Imo governorship contest will continue  at the Supreme Court this Thursday October 22.

A former Commissioner of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,  Chief Phillip Umeadi has contended that the All Progressive Congress (APC), Imo State chapter had no governorship candidate in the 2019 governorship election.

His contention he said is based on the fact that the apex court had last year nullified the candidature of  Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, on the basis that he was dual candidate of the Action Alliance, AA and the All Progressive Congress, APC, having purchased nomination forms of both political parties in the state.

Umeadi’s prayer is that based on the Supreme Court judgement technically, that APC in Imo State ought not to have a governorship candidate in the 2019 governorship election, insisting that the Supreme Court being the highest court in the land cannot probate and reprobate on the same matter.

Mr. Damian Ikwugbado who’s part of the nullification prayer told The Authority that the matter will come up at the Supreme Court for hearing on this Thursday informing also that the Apex court had constituted a six man panel of judges to give  the case an accelerated hearing. It is pertinent to recall that last month Barr. Kingdom Okere, the 2019 Imo state gubernatorial candidate of   Reform and Advancement Party, RAP,  withdrew a similar matter at the Federal High Court, Abuja on the basis of conscience and personal conviction of moving the state forward.
