Illegal Structure: Electrical Market Obosi Calls For Government Intervention
The executive and traders at Electrical Dealers International Market, Obosi have called on the Anambra State government and relevant agencies to take immediate action against the erection of illegal structure in the market.
The pioneer Chairman of the market, Chief Innocent Muojekwu, and the present chairman of the market, Comrade Johnbosco Onukwo said a trader in the market by name Mr. Micheal Aniekwena, popularly known as “Anagbangbo” on Sunday 20th October 2024, without approval began erecting a plaza on an access road that links the market to the Onitsha-Owerri Expressway.
They said the act by Mr. Aniekwena halted business activities and triggered the traders who almost went into protest but for the intervention of the market Chairman, delegates from Idemili North Council Area and men of the Nigerian Police Force from Obosi and Zone 13 Ukpo.
According to the duo, Mr. Aniekwena tried erecting the same building last year, but it was demolished by the Anambra state government, who also ordered him to stop work on the site.
