Igbo must stop hurting self says Ezeemo

Mr Godwin Ezeemo a front line politician in Anambra has called on those condemning the nomination of Mr Peter Obi as the running mate of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to stop.

Ezeemo stated this in a press statement on Monday in his country home  Umuchu in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra.

He said that anybody from Igbo extraction  who was condemning Obi’s choice was simply hurting the Igbo’s and urged such persons  to stop hurting themselves because of  political gains.

Ezeemo said that every Igbo man should place the interest of Igbo nation above self and fight as a body, speak with one voice no matter who was chosen so as to place Igbo’s back on its pride stool once more.

He said that he was pained to read through pages of national dailies that some people of South East Geo –Political zone was against the nomination  of  Obi  to  Abubakar in upcoming presidential election of 2019.

“ Where is the Igbo love for one another, can we not sit in our closet to discuss the problems, why washing our assumed dirty clothes in public , no, we must out grown self ego in issues affecting  generality of Igbo’s and the unborn  generations “  he said

Ezeemo said that he may not know in full details  what those agitating  against Obi’s nomination was but since we have being marginalized in affairs of the national polity we must not toy with any given opportunity  .

He said that Obi was known for his outstanding leadership in governance in Anambra  and competence in managing  both human and material resources .

“ Obi changed the narrative of governance in Anambra state as a governor and had given quality  representation of the state whenever the opportunity presents its self for him .

“ Obi has a resounding national curriculum that qualifies him not only as a vice president but a president therefore let those agitating  eschew all ill feelings for common good of the Igbo tribe please “ he said

Ezeemo urged those against  the choice of Obi to please kill the  feelings and file behind him so as to salvage the Igbo’s from chronic margalisation witnessed in the county polity

He said that those they had penciled down as best could be championed to sever as Ministers , Diplomats or heads of  Ministries .Agencies amongst others .

He said that Igbo’s were blessed in many areas  of life that such people could sever in those areas or wait after this time.

” patience must be our watch word , it must not be my way all the time or else nothing works , a little to the right , to left and the centre , life goes on” he said.
