Igbo group hails Obasanjo at 86, labels him ‘outstanding statesman’
Movement For Election of Nigeria President of Igbo Extraction has extolled and commended Ex military Head of State and former civilian president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, as he marked his 86th birthday.
A goodwill message endorsed by the Convener and National President, Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, and Prof. Justus Chidi described Obasanjo as outstanding statesman, remarkable unifier, detribalised pacifist, patriot and conscience of the nation.
The message said Obasanjo’s belief in social, economic and political justice to all regardless of tribe, religion or clans shingled him out as unequal rare and unique gift to humanity.
It said: “Your strong believe in unity, peace, progress, justice and prosperity of our dear country manifested when you out of patriotism, love for the country and social justice, inclusiveness and sense of belonging endorsed and supported the candidacy of Labour Party Presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi based on competent, capacity, capability, morality and good conscience.
“We thank you greatly for the indispensable roles you have played and will continues to play toward socioeconomic development of our country.
“As you marks you birthday we pray to God to grant your more grace, wisdom, good health and strength in the years ahead as you continue to strive toward actualizing Nigeria of our dreams, hopes and aspirations.
