Ubah, who joined YPP to realise his senatorial ambition after he was schemed out of the All Progressives Grand Alliance primary election, is in the race  against Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress  and Chris Uba of the  Peoples Democratic Party.

In  adopting him, the 20 political parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding stating that they would work for his election as the senator representing the district.

Speaking at a press conference in Awka, the state capital, the Chairman of  Inter-Party Advisory Council, Isaac Onuka, said they decided to adopt  Ubah as a consensus candidate after considering many factors such as capacity, competence and love for the people.

Onuka said Ubah was the most capable and competent candidate  for the senatorial seat because of his track record as well as his youth empowerment initiatives.

He said, “Ifeanyi Ubah has touched  many lives in all facets and deserved to represent Anambra South at the Senate.

“These parties adopted him and will work and canvass for votes for him, door-to-door so that come February 16, 2019, he will emerge victorious.

“The decision to adopt Dr Ubah as a candidate by the political parties is taken in good faith for the interest of the people of Anambra State.”
