Idemili South Inaugurates Civil Servants Cooperative Society

The Idemili South Local Government Area(ISLGA), Anambra State in collaboration with Anambra State Business Agency (ASBA) has inaugurated all civil servants cooperative society.

The inauguration of the Civil Servants cooperative society, which took place at the Local Government Secretariat Ojoto was one of the innovations of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s to ensure that no sector or group of people in the state were left behind in the vision of making Anambra state a prosperous and liveable place, providing enable environment and a level playing ground for the economy to thrive.

According to the Managing Director, Anambra State Small Business Agency (ASBA), Chief Sir Clem Chukwuka, Civil Servants cooperative society is another milestone actualization of the Gov Soludo led administration and purpose of establishment of providing support for the thriving growth and sustenance of cooperative business activities in the State.

“Civil Servants in Idemili South are encouraged to avail themselves of this unique opportunity by organizing cooperative groups of minimum of 10 persons per group that would meets standard, compliance of the State Small Business Agency,”said Chukwuka.

Earlier in her opening remarks, the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South, Hon Amaka Obi(Iyom Ifeabata) after eulogizing Prof Soludo for bringing solution to the ailing economy adversely affecting Nigerians tasked the civil servants to avail themselves the opportunity provided by ASBA and be faithful in adhering to the requisite conditions.

“This programme would bring to civil servants a robust, inclusive and sustainable approach towards the ASBA Solution Loan Scheme, ASBA Civil Servants Solution Retirement Entrepreneur Loan Scheme and ASBA Micro Cooperative Loan Scheme”.

She said that the main focus of the programme was to educate and enlighten the civil servants of the Government primary and secondary school teachers and workers of the council on the concept of an ideal Cooperative Loan Scheme and how to leverage it to ensure that the loan needs of civil servants are met.

Mrs Obi also requested that the loan be extended to at least a four years duration which was granted by the MD of ASBA.

The duo of Head of Personal Management Idemili South, Olieh A.I and the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) ISLGA, Comrade Innocent Edoziuno eulogized Governor Soludo for Coopting the civil servants in the economic programs of the State.
