I raped her once – Father confesses
One 65-year-old Rojaiye Balogun has been arrested by the Ogun State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), for allegedly raping his 17-year-old daughter.
The Ogun NSCDC Commandant, Kolawole Taiwo, told newsmen on Thursday, that the man was nabbed on Wednesday at Imomo-Ijebu, Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area of the state.
According to Taiwo, a relative of the victim had reported the case at the Anti-Human Trafficking, Irregular Migration Unit of the command.
The Commandant explained that the sexagenarian had confessed to having unlawful carnal knowledge of his daughter, “saying it was the work of the devil.”
He maintained that the matter would be investigated, while berating the rising cases of incest in the society.
Meanwhile, Balogun had denied being the victim’s biological father, saying he slept with her once at a time her mother travelled.
However, the victim disagreed with the suspect, saying he is his biological father and that he raped her four times.
She alleged that her father once promised to give her N1,000 to allow him to sleep with her, “and I refused, but he forced himself on me.”
The man must not go unpunished for this crime and abominable act he has committed against his daughter. Ignorance is not an excuse, if evil people of his kind can be punished so shall he be punished. Ozoude chimuanya blessing
The issue of rape in Nigeria is a huge problem that needs to be curbed as it is now on the high side.The rate of rape cases in our country is fast rising..Fathers sleeping with their daughter is not just a criminal offense but also a moral offence …The child will go through trauma which she may never recover from.The man should be punished (Death penalty).
The increasing rate of rape in our society is very alarming 😔and something needs to be done about this. Imagine a father sleeping with his own daughter which he made out of his own body. It’s not just a crime but a sin and abomination…it’s painful what life is Turning into in our society.

What an irresponsible father😔reward for every evil is punishment, so this man shouldn’t go unpunished.I wonder what this world is turning into…how can a father who is expected to protect his child be the thorn on her flesh,pls this man should be punished severely to serve as a deterrent to budding rapist (biological fathers)

Parental negligence is the sole cause of such rape cases . Such issues should be treated as directed by the law regardless of the victim or culprit.

I disagree with you on this one.
I feel the girl is meant to take a part in the blame for not speaking up the first time it happened.
This can’t be tagged parental negligence rather it’s the ignorance of the girl for not speaking up for the countless times she was raped.

Rape or sexual harrasment is an unlawful and immoral act that should be stopped and anyone who violates it should be punished or imprisoned. This is not just an ordinary case of rape but Incest. The man shouldn’t go unpunished. He thinks he can go scot-free by blaming the devil, he must face the consequences of his unlawful actions

The percentage rate of Rape cases in Nigeria is rapidly increasing.
I don’t understand why people are so ignorant that rape not just being a physical violence,it is also a mental violence which has so many bad side effects on the victim.
Who so ever is the rapist should be punished severely according to the law.
Rape is a menace, it has destroyed a lot of societies and would still destroy more if it isn’t curbed. The father has committed a sin towards God and man, and should be arrested. Rape isn’t something that should be smiled upon in any society, it is evil!

Such immoral actions of fathers sleeping with their daughters should be given proper attention by looking into it and find means and ways to curb it because such is not jus a sin or crime but an abomination
However, 17 year old is no longer a child that should keep shut when facing such problem. He or she should be able to speak up earlier and louder before the situation get out of hand.
How can a man with conscience do this evil atrocity against a little he claims to his child. He did not only defiled her but he also planted an evil seed in her heart.This man needs to punished for this abomination he has committed.

This gruesome act must not go unpunished. What a shameless and irresponsible father!!😠 What will the society think of him? This man should not be granted mercy and bail of any sort!! Rape is such an immoral act and shouldn’t be seen as a child’s play. His arrest will not only serve as a punishment but also serve as a deterrent to others.
