A member of Federal House of Representatives, Chief Okwudili Ezenwankwo has stated that the reason behind his defection to People’s Democratic party (PDP) was for him to connect himself to the affairs of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Ezenwankwo who is representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and former All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) chieftain made the disclosure while speaking to newsmen in Onitsha.

“Today, I am in PDP and by the special grace of God I am the candidate of PDP in Orumba North/ South Federal constituency and I think I made a right choice by joining PDP.

Election is about starting not party. Party is just like a vehicle and I so much believed that if you are going to Lagos and you join a vehicle from Onitsha, maybe on the way, the vehicle stopped you in Benin. You join another vehicle to your destination.

What matters most is your destination not vehicle. PDP is a National Party as far as I am concerned and APGA is there in Anambra State and I was in APGA before.

When you talk of National Assembly, you talk of APC and PDP. APGA is a minority Party, I have tested it and I have seen it. So, I have to move with the Party I am sure will hook me to the National either direct minority Party or ruling Party. And that was the reason why I left APGA not that APGA is not a good Party. I have to hook myself to the mainstream of the affairs of the country,” He posited!

Ezenwankwo, further disclosed that the National Assembly issued ultimatum to impeach President Mohammed Buhari if he fails to address the issue of insecurity in the country, stating that National Assembly is currently on recess and would reconvene by September when they will deliberate on the ultimatum given to President Buhari.

”Security of life and property is a serious thing and responsibility of government to secure it’s citizens.  What is Paramount is a situation where this country would be free from insecurity and  our efforts is to  fix the country. If president Buhari  is not ready to bring security challenges to an end, we are ready to remove him but if the President and his lieutenants bring down insecurity, we withdraw the impeachment move.
