How My Role Model Inspired Me – By Chukwudifu Monica

1

My name is Chukwudifu Monica Amarachi, a Mass Communication student at UNIZIK. I’m writing to share how my role model, Bishop David Oyedepo, inspired me to turn my life around.

Growing up, I struggled academically and was often discouraged by my poor grades. My family would praise my younger sister for her good grades, while I faced criticism and insults. I began to feel like I was destined for failure.

But everything changed in SS1 when I stumbled upon Bishop Oyedepo’s testimony. He shared how his mother, a cleaner in a rich man’s house, struggled to pay his school fees. Despite being a “dullard” student, his mother encouraged him to read every day and explain what he learned to her. She prayed for him, and he eventually became the successful pastor he is today.

Bishop Oyedepo’s story resonated with me. I realized that no child is born to fail; we just need to trust in God and read to excel
