How Israel Successfully Defend Itself From Several Palestinian Missiles.
Israel is a country that has always been under a constant pressure to defend it’s territory, originally carved out Palestine in 1948 without their agreement, there have been constant conflicts between the two.Being the world’s only Jewish state, located just east of the Mediterranean Sea.
Palestinians, the Arab population that hails from the land Israel now controls, wants to establish a state on all part of the same land. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is over who gets what land.
So it’s no surprise Israel have witnessed constant attacks from the Palestine group over the years ,with frequency of missile attacks increasing there is an urgent need for Israel to defend it’s air space which led to the invention of the iron dome defense system in 2011
The iron dome defense system
The iron dome was developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems ,it went operational in 2011 and was able to get it’s first taste of combat in 2012.

Shooting missiles to hit missiles is nothing new. It’s a hard engineering challenge, but modern militaries have made big strides by linking the data of powerful radar on the ground to guidance systems on the interceptors.
But the brains of Iron Dome are unique, and that why it’s changing the way the world thinks about missile defense.
When it detects a rocket, Iron Dome immediately calculates that rocket’s trajectory. If the target were a major city or military base, IDF personnel could decide to fire an interceptor, if the warhead were going to end up in the empty desert or into the sea, they let it go.
The iron dome intercepts missiles with an accuracy of about 90 percent.
There are ongoing plans on upgrading the system,israel says that an upgraded version of its combat proven Iron dome defense system successfully knocked down all of the simulated targets it faced in a recent series of tests.
Israeli officials says that they will be an upgraded version of the system, which entered service nearly a decade ago, and will be able to engage “evolving threats in the region. Till date the iron dome system have successfully intercepted 2400 missiles(Test included).
