House of representatives.committee on Nigeria content development, monitoring commends Zobis cable Nig Ltd

Federal house of representatives committee on Nigeria content development and monitoring has highly commended Zobis cable Nig ltd an Ogbaru base cable manufacturing company noting that the the company is a testimony that Nigeria as a nation has what it takes to produce world class industrial materials which can stand the taste of international standard as well as meet the technical demand of oil,gas and energy construction sector.
Making this commendation while leading members of house of representatives committee on Nigeria content development and monitoring on oversight function at Zobis cable Nig ltd last Thursday,Hon.Boma.Goodhead said that with what the committee observed that the company has what it takes to solve the country deficiency in cable market if given the necessary support.
While giving kudos to the management of the company especially the chief executive officer Dr John Ezeobi,she assured that the committee will give the company all necessary support to ensure that it further Excell more.
Said she,”what we have witnessed in this company showed a commitment to Nigeria industrial development, ingenuity and technical excellence, the scale of investment shows that indigenous manufacturers are ready to compete globally if given the right policy support, visibility and access to oil and gas value chain.”
On his own part,Mr christian Udechukwu , anambra state commissioner of industries while also showering praises on management of the cable manufacturing industry stated that the state government is delighted about the industry even as he revealed that the state government is building an industrial estate that will be cited on a 4,046 hectres of land adding that he expects that Zobis cable will be included in the plan.
Earlier,Dr John Ezeobi, the CEO of Zobis cable Nig ltd while speaking to journalists who covered the occasion has thank the house committee for coming to the company to have a first hand knowledge of going on in the company. He stated that he has the believe that the visit will help lawmakers to do know the problem of manufacturers in Nigeria and come up with a better way of ameliorating them.
On challenges of manufacturers in Nigeria,he highlighted them to include lack of fund, power , government support etc and called all three tier of government, local, state and federal government to rise up to this and encourages production sector to create jobs to augment government responsibilities in that sector.
