Hon. Onwuegbu moves for an eqipped hospital in Oji River LGA
..ENSG plans to establish 20 Type 2 health centres across Oji River LGA.

The problem of non existence of an equipped and functional public hospital in the entire of Oji River local government area will soon be over, as the federal lawmaker representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River constituency in the National Assembly,Hon.Engr. Anayo Onwuegbu,has successfully made moves that will reverse the ugly trend.
On the request of Hon.Anayo Onwuegbu, the federal government will release funds to the tune of one billion naira to equip any of the public hospitals in Oji River local government area.
Hon.Onwuegbu dropped the hints while speaking on Sunday,at a special service to mark the coronation of Rev.Dr. Ikechukwu Egbuonu as the second Bishop of Oji River diocese(Anglican Communion),held at St.Pauls Cathedral,Holy hills,Oji River.
The technocrat cum politician assured that the vision will be realised before the end of this year ,as he is personally taking up the challenge.
He stated,”As a member of the House of Representatives,I want to say before the people of God that I am personally taking up the challenge of the non-functional hospital in our constituency and before December this year,We will change the narrative.
“Many thanks to the federal government of Nigeria who listened to my cry and we have gotten direct grant to furnish one hospital in Oji River. Hospital equipment worth over one billion naira will be coming within the next 60 days”,Hon Onwuegbu assured.
Checks revealed that all the public hospitals in Oji River local government area are currently in comatose.,most especally the Oji River General hospital and Achi joint hospital that played immense roles in the health sector in the defunct Eastern Nigeria,particularly old Awgu division.
In another development,Oji River local government area will benefit from the Enugu State government plans to establish ‘TYPE 2’ health centres in each of the 260 wards across the state.
The Engu State Governor,Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah,gave this hints while rendering account of his nine months stewardship as governor of the state , during the town hall meeting held on Saturday,March 23rd,at old government lodge,Abakaliki road,Enugu.
He said the TYPE 2 health centres,coming on board will curtail mortality maternal rate in every ward in the state. Oji River local government area comprising of 20 wards obviously will have 20 of such hospitals,established in it.
