Gunmen Kill One, Abduct Three in Nasarawa Community
Unknown gunmen attacked a pharmacy in Agyaragu, Jenkwe development area, Obi Local Government, killing a young woman and abducting the pharmacy owner along with two of his sales attendants.
The incident occurred around 8:44 pm on Thursday and lasted for nearly an hour without any security intervention. An eyewitness reported that the gunmen stormed Emmy Gold Pharmacy Nigeria Limited, fired shots indiscriminately, and fatally wounded a passerby. They then forced their captives into the bush.
Community youths attempted to intervene but were overpowered by the assailants’ heavy gunfire. The attack has heightened fears among residents, as cases of kidnapping for ransom continue to rise.
A resident, Jonah Yakubu, called on the state government and security agencies to enhance security in the area and ensure the release of the abducted victims.
Efforts to reach the Nasarawa State Police Command for confirmation were unsuccessful.
