Group unveils foundation to tackle immorality, poverty among girls in Anambra
It is a new dawn in Ihiala Local Government Area, Anambra State as group of daughters from the community launched a platform, Ihiala Ladies Foundation, to promote culture and nurture young minds among the female folks to strive high in the society.
The event was held at Freedom Garden, Awka and attracted ladies from far and near who graced the occasion to discuss the way forward of the program.
Speaking at the event, the convener of the foundation, Blessing Nnabuife, expressed gratitude to God for the idea to organise the maiden event.
According to her, “the foundation was founded to create good pillar of dividends for Ihiala ladies to build strong unity by using an enabling platform to change the narrative, perception and thought of people towards Ndi Ihiala. It is to let them know that Ihiala girls are the best and illustrious with a track record of integrity and excellence.”
“Our programs are geared towards eliminating the bad effect of hardship, poverty, among others that has introduced girls to so many immoral activities.
“The foundation hopes to achieve the task by empowering girls to contribute to nation building and supporting Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, vision to build the state into a liveable and prosperous mega city.
Nnabuife maintained that ladies of Ihiala are the bright future of Ihiala and Anambra State at large and that the mission of the foundation is to help cultivate morals back to the girls by taking back the society as leaders of tommorow.
She also noted that the foundation through its skill acquisition, mentorship, and empowerment programmes, will build the girls to be champions in the society instead of shying away from programs that will inspire them to greater height.
“With the support of Ndi Ihiala and Anambra people we are assured of victory towards achieving our goal, mission and vision,” she said.
