Group Storm Anambra, Preaches Violence- free Election
A non governmental group, today, urged the general public to vote with conscience and dissociate from violence in the forthcoming general election slated for February 16.
The peaceful rally which was aimed at educating the voters on why they should exercise their fundamental human right took place at the Eke Awka junction along the Zik avenue.
Addressing the market women and traders during the rally, Chukwuma Godwin, described the group as non-partisan while explaining that the major objective of the rally was to inform people why they should come out and vote for the candidate of their choice.
The rally leader, ultimate campaign , Anambra branch stressed that there is great need for voters to cast their vote for the candidate they deem fit for the various political positions irrespective of the party the candidates represent.His words, ” we are basically here to sensitize people about the upcoming election.
We urge voters to vote for the right person. One may ask who is a right person? We are here to inform you that whoever you choose is the right person.
He urged voters to shun the temptation of selling their votes while also warning youths who are easily induced with peanuts to cause election violence to desist from such act.
The group was made up of youths of different profession wearing T-shirts with slogans ‘Vote and Not Fight’, party is Nothing as they campaign round the town
