Governor Soludo Approves Operationalization of ANSOPADEC

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has graciously approved the operationalization of Anambra State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission, ANSOPADEC, in line with the law establishing it.

In a similar vein, the state Executive Council has approved the construction of the road from Atani Community to Umuezerabia Community, in Ogbaru Local Government Area, housing several Oil Wells.

The commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Professor Charles Ofoegbu, unveiled all these in his office at the Jerome Udoji state Secretariat Awka, during a meeting with Ogbaru Stakeholders, ably led by the traditional ruler of Ossomala Community, Igwe Victor Awogu.

Commissioner Ofoegbu, flanked by his Commerce counterpart, Mr. Nomso Ebonwu, announced that a school and Primary Healthcare Center will also be sited at Umuezerabia Community and procurement has reached advanced stage.

He implored Ogbaru Stakeholders to go back to drawing board, properly articulate their needs in form of a requisition letter to the governor plus technical suggestions on how to tackle the challenges posed by Oil exploration and production, assuring that Governor Soludo is committed to the development of Ogbaru Council Area.

Speaking through the Secretary, Ogbaru Summit Development Initiative, Honourable Emmanuel Ifeachor, Igwe Awogu, said that they came to seek for collaboration with the state government towards the electrification of Ogbaru Council Area, provision of access roads, security and most importantly ensuring that they are fully represented as host community with full benefits.
