Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to partnering with professional engineers in the state to tackle the menace of building collapse caused by quackery in the construction sector.

The Governor made this known through his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, when members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Awka Chapter, paid him a courtesy visit at the New Government House, Awka.

Governor Soludo, who emphasized that the role of engineers in societal development cannot be overemphasized, urged the association to intensify efforts in monitoring engineering practices to curb the activities of quacks in the profession.

Earlier, the Chairperson of the association, Engr. MaryJane Okoli; who led the delegation, commended the Governor for his developmental strides across the state, and appealed for stronger collaboration between the association and the state government.
