Thomas Tuchel the new Chelsea coach took charge of his first game as the Chelsea manager after replacing Frank Lampard at the Chelsea dugout.

Chelsea played out a 0-0 stalemate against Wolves in Tuchel first match. There are no changes from Frank Lampard’s Chelsea but it’s believed to still be a work in progres

Analysis

Timo Werner: The big money signing from Leipzig only settled for a place on the bench. Maybe the coach is still trying to find a fitting place for him in the starting line up.

Ben Chilwell: The English defender was among the best performers for Chelsea early in the season but the reverse is the case now. As we can see in the match he is yet to discover his form and was hooked off in the 76th minute of the game for Christian Pulisic.

Possession football: Chelsea had a total of 78% possession as against Wolves 22%. They made a total of 433 passes in the opening half, their most in the first half of a League game since at least 2003-04. The made a total of 820 passes in the match. But with all the possession Chelsea still can’t make something out of it with the best chance of the game going to Wolves who hit the crossbar through Neto.

Hodson Odoi: The young English player was one of the top performers of the night. He used his pace to create some problems for the Wolves defence. He had a couple of chances. He was later deployed to the wing-back position.

coach Tuchel : is still trying experiments on the squads and try to find a balance in the team. He made four changes from the squad that started their last league match, Recce James, Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham were all benched for Cesar Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Ziyech and Olivier Giroud.

Tuchel will be looking forward to getting his first three points for Chelsea when they play Burnley in their next league match.
