Foundation Awards Scholarships, Distributes Palliatives to students in celebration of Foundation, Founder’s 52nd Birthday

No fewer than 20 indigent students from all the institutions of higher learning in the state have received scholarship award of N150,000.00 and other palliatives from Dr. Chioma Awuzie Foundation (DCAF).
This was to mark the foundation’s sixth year Annual Scholarship Award, empowerment and founder’s 52nd birthday. It was held at the Main Auditorium, Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State.
The Foundation was founded in the year 2019 by Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie with a mission of touching lives positively, empowering the less privileged, community members and many others.
In her welcome address, Dr. Awuzie described this year’s DCAF Annual Scholarship Award and Charity Programme as special because it heralded activities marking her 52 years birthday anniversary.
“The 2025 DCAF event represents another milestone in our collective journey to build hope, create opportunity and change lives through acts of kindness, educational empowerment and strategic community support.
“Dr. Chioma Awuzie Foundation is a vision anchored on empowerment. When we began, our dream was simple and yet ambitious; to serve as a bridge between the privileged and the underserved. We set out to touch lives, heal, build and restore dignity where despair once reigned.
“Over the past six years, we have deepened our interventions in five key areas which include: educational access, charity and community outreach, women and youth empowerment, healthcare and medical outreach, maternal support and childbirth palliatives.
“We are proud to award one-off academic scholarships to 19 outstanding indigent students. These young men and women have shown exceptional courage and academic commitment despite personal and financial setbacks,” she said.
Dr. Awuzie also called on government institutions, development partners, captains of industries and the general public to join in making the Foundation sustainable and scalable so as to expand its charitable footprint and build a nation where no one is left behind.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, a student from the Department of Accountancy, Federal Polytechnic Oko, John Chioma Okoro thanked DCAF and Dr. Awuzie for touching lives positively and prayed God to continuously bless and prosper her.
Climax of the occasion was the award of scholarships to the outstanding indigent students, cutting of the 52 years birthday cake by the celebrant, distribution of rice, noodles, groundnut oil, sanitary pads, detergents and many other palliatives to students and staff of Federal Polytechnic Oko.
