FMC Keffi records 23 deaths for Coronavirus pandemic,discharges 533 of 612 records

The Management of the Federal Medical Center ,Keffi has said that a total number of twenty three (23) persons died of the coronavirus disease in their facility.

FMC Keffi said the center has managed up to 612 cases of coronavirus,while a total of 533 had been discharged,with only 24 patients currently undergoing treatment at the facility.

Head of Clinical Services of the FMC Keffi, Dr Christopher Edeh Ejimeke, who disclosed this to newsmen equally said among the measures put in place that can help in curtailing the spread of diseases outbreaks,ranging from COVID-19,Ebola and Lassa Fever,apart from the regular washing of hands and applying sanitizer,is to adopt attitudinal change.

Dr Edeh,also revealed that from 25/2/2021 FMC keffi have on admission 2 patients that were confirmed,suspected on admission Nile,discharged Nile ,and that there is no newer confirmed case on admission.

He added that there are 2 patient on home care treatment,none from home care that was transferred to the facility,as well as none had been discharged.

” Let me advise that it is no time for us to relax on taking precautionary measures simply because we feel the cases is no more as alarming as it was in the previous year or years ,the truth is that a lot of persons are still pretending not have the disease for so many reasons attached to personality statues,which is very wrong.

” There is need for a change in our attitude ,which is following the laid down rules and laws of the federal government in order to stop the spread of the virus” Dr Edeh admonishes.

He further stated that FMC Keffi is one among the FMCs in the country that the Federal Government gave a directive to,in terms of feeding COVID-19 patients in her facility,which according to him,his boss the MD ,Dr Yahaya Baba, has made a priority and is living up to that directive.
