FIRS Orders Immediate Shutdown of Unauthorised Tax Collection Accounts
The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has directed Nigerian banks to close all tax and levy collection accounts not linked to its TaxPro Max platform.
FIRS Chairman Dr. Zacch Adedeji said the move aims to enhance transparency and eliminate revenue leakages. All tax payments must now be processed exclusively through TaxPro Max, and banks have been urged to comply immediately.
