FG Equips Anambra Fire Service with Two Fire Fighting Trucks

Following recent reported fire outbreaks in the state, the Federal government has through the Federal Fire Service, equipped the Anambra state Fire Service with two brand new fire fighting trucks to help fire fighting in the state.

Anambra deputy governor, Dr Nkem Okeke who represented Governor Willie Obiano during the commissioning of the trucks at the state Fire Service Headquarters in Awka, thanked the Federal Fire Service for the gesture which he said will improve the service delivery of the agency in Anambra.

He was also optimistic that the state Fire Service will gain more from the federal fire service.

Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Dr Liman Alhaji Ibrahim represented by Deputy Controller General, Engineer Calistus Agu said that the deployment of the fire fighting assets in the state is in line with the resolve of the President Muhammadu Buhari – led administration to ensure the safety of lives and property of the citizenry, and to complement fire fighting efforts of the state Fire Service.

Present at the event were Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Commissioner for Public Utilities, Mr Emeka Ezenwanne, Anambra state Managing Director of Fire Service, Retired Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi, and others.
