FG Begins Reconstruction Of 8 Federal Roads In Anambra State

The federal government has commenced reconstruction of eight federal roads across the state.
The Commissioner for Works, Engineer Marcel Ifejiofor, made this known while inspecting pace of work at the Amawbia -Nise-Agulu-Ekwulobia federal road.

Works correspondent Ngozi Obileri was part of the inspection tour and reports that the first road the federal government started rehabilitation is the Amawbia -Nise-Agulu-Ekwulobia road.

While inspecting the work, Engineer Ifejiofor said the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, wrote to the Anambra state government requesting for approval to work on some federal roads in the state.

Engineer Ifejiofor said state government is happy for not just receiving the letter but also witnessing commencement of work already.

He appreciated the federal government for the move and called on stakeholders who have the wherewithal to help government in infrastructural development of the state to come forward.
The Site Manager, Engineer Joseph Egbeh, said he was contracted by FERMA to put portions of the roads which have gone bad in good shape.


He said that they have three weeks to complete the Amawbia-Nise-Agulu-Ekwulobia road as they have men and materials readily available.

The Commissioner was accompanied on the inspection visit by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Barrister Emeka Ohuoha, the Managing Director Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency, ARMA, Engineer Emeka Okoye and other directors in the Ministry of Works.
