FG Allocates N827bn for Education Infrastructure in 2025 Budget

President Bola Tinubu has announced that the Federal Government has already disbursed N34bn in loans to over 300,000 students across the country’s tertiary institutions through the Nigeria Education Loan Fund. During his presentation of the N49.7tn 2025 budget estimates to a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday, the President revealed that the government has allocated a total of N826bn for infrastructure development within the education sector for the 2025 fiscal year. This funding will also cover the Universal Basic Education (UBE) and nine newly established higher educational institutions. Additionally, President Tinubu highlighted that the government has committed N402bn to infrastructure investments in the health sector and N282.65bn for the Basic Health Care Fund in the 2025 budget. These allocations aim to strengthen Nigeria’s primary healthcare system and improve healthcare access across the nation.
