FCCPC sensitizes monarch, workers on consumer rights

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) in its bid to perform its mandates and functions under the FCCP Act of 2018 has carried out awareness programme to Ebonyi state, over the weekend.

Recall that the commission was set-up by FCCP Act of 2018, and charged with the duty to organize or undertake campaigns and other forms of activities capable of promoting increased private and public consumer awareness.

However, the Southeast Zonal office in Awka, visited the Ezeogo  Idam Nkpola Bassey, the traditional ruler of Amasiri ancient kingdom in Afikpo North LGA, Ebonyi State alongside cabinet members to sensitize them on the functions and mandates of the Commission, as well as their rights as consumers.

The FCCPC team also visited the Woda Mountain Granites site, also in Amasiri, where it sensitized their workers on their rights as consumers.

Highlights of the visit include a sensitization meetings held with market executives and some traders of Hot Drinks and Winery in Abakaliki in Ebonyi State.

The visit also featured a routine inspection carried out in major Departmental stores and Supermarkets in Abakaliki.
