Fathers Day: Be Defenders Of Your Faith – Bishop Ibezim tells Fathers

The Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, and Bishop of Awka diocese, Anglican Communion, The Most Reverend Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim, PhD, has charged fathers to rise up to the challenge of new and transformed life to distinguish themselves as defenders of faith.

Archbishop Ibezim in his congratulatory messege to the fathers to mark the 2020 edition of Fathers Day urged Fathers to make fear of the lord Paramount in their daily living so as to attain the full blessings of God. He said that such would be a gateway to becoming God’s agent of transformation in the society.

He said: ” Let us distinguish ourselves as defenders of faith; men who love their wives and keep their homes in peace, and who live in chastity and purity as examples for our sons and daughters”.

While he made reference to Psalm 128: 1-4 which reads ” Blessed is the man who fears the lord”, Bishop Ibezim reminded fathers the need to fully understand their true position in the lord as that will ensure they become faithful trustees of public fund and steer clear by Gods grace from every appearance of evil.

He stated that to hate evil, stand on the word of God and to be aware of God’s presence continually are the tripod on which every man that calls himself a Christian must stand.

” The fear of God is a lifestyle, not just an act. When men truly fear God, they become God’s agents of transformation at their places of work and in the family.

“Jesus Christ built his ministry on twelve men. They were not superman . faith and sacrifice did not come easily to them, nor were they always humble. But they allowed God to change them. Transforming them into paragons of virtue and Godly living”.
