Eze Ojoto buries mother amidst tributes

South Local Government Area has buried her mother, Late Mrs. Philomena Mbamalu amidst tributes who died at the age of 82years.

It was celebration of life over the weekend about a matriarch and veteran teacher who imparted the lives of many illustrious sons and daughters of Ojoto community and environs.

Late Philomena was born to Chief and Late Mrs. Ofojama Orajekwe  and married to late Chief Ibeagha Mbamalu. She was blessed with nine children and many grandchildren.

The la crème of the society from Anambra and beyond were both present and represented to offer their good will messages to the family of the bereaved.

According to the Ojoto Traditional Prime minister, Chief Patrick Onwuaraghi, “She was a good person and mother to all. She had the penchant to train people whether you were her child or not.

Chief Amobi Adirika described the matriarch as a peace and unity loving woman who unified her home and brokered peace anywhere she found herself.

Prof. Chika Mmaduabum said that she contributed to mentoring many illustrious sons and daughters of Ojoto as a renowned teacher and multitalented person.

Also, Barr. Jonathan Meneke said that she taught them how to
respect elders, authority and respect themselves in other to be respected in
the society.

The duo of Chiefs Samuel and Chinedu Ezeofia asked the monarch to take heart saying that he was the one to bury the mother not otherwise praying God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss.

Moreover, the Secretary, Ojoto Akanasato Union, Surv. Gabriel Okeke described the deceased as a compendium of knowledge who liked counseling anyone who came around her irrespective of the person’s age.

Chief Okechukwu Arinze said that the late matriarch was very
hard working and led many organizations praying God to bless Igwe Mbamalu for giving the mother a befitting burial.

Igwe Mbamalu was delighted for the huge turnout of people from different walks of life and societal strata who came to commiserate with them at the time of grief.

“We express our profound appreciation to all who have supported and encouraged us through this journey of celebrating our queen mother.
