DJ Switch Is So Intelligent, Spoke To Canadian Government About Lekki Shooting, Mixed reactions as video of DJ Switch testifying before the Sub-committee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development of the Canadian Parliament emerges.
Recall that the entertainer who was signed by Peter Okoye as personal disc jockey in 2017, made headlines after capturing the shooting by military men, which occurred on the 20th of October at the Lekki Toll Gate.
Yesterday, there was a viral report that DJ Switch has travelled outside the country for her safety due to several threats to life she received.
In a video posted by the Canadian Parliament on its website, Obianuju Catherine Udeh, popularly known as DJ Switch, recounted #EndSARS protesters’ experience in the hands of soldiers who stormed the protest ground in Lagos that very night.
She revealed that soldiers opened fire at the peaceful protesters after creating a three-formation line, debunking claims by the Nigerian Army that soldiers fired blank bullets into the air.
She also told the Canadian Parliament that she counted not less than 7 persons shot, adding that one of the soldiers even threatened to shoot her after confronting him on why they’re shooting at protesters.
When one of the Canadian Parliament official asked her about the whole #EndSARS story, she narrated how the hashtag started online in 2017 following incessant police brutality and extortion of those they are supposed to protect.
She also added that these SARS officers go about searching people’s phone during stop and search and if they assume you’re fresh & wealthy as a young man, they will demand certain amount of money which they usually transfer via bank.
DJ Switch when asked about internet fraudsters, she accepted that their are young boys who engage in that, but it’s not everybody that does that in Nigeria, that in fact those that engage in internet fraud (Yahoo Yahoo) do it just to survive since the government do not care about her people.
