Ex-CJN, FIRS Chairman, Others to Discuss Tax Administration at Ibadan NBA Anniversary

The former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Wale Babalakin, and Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Chairman Zacheus Adedeji are among key figures set to discuss “Tax and Its Administration in Nigeria” at the 70th anniversary celebration of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ibadan Branch. The Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Adebayo Mutalubi, announced this during a press briefing on Thursday at the Afe Babalola Bar Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan. The event is part of a week-long celebration marking the milestone. Mutalubi also revealed that the NBA Ibadan Branch would donate items to orphanages and conclude the Aare Afe Babalola football competition as part of the anniversary festivities. Other notable attendees include Oyo State’s Internally Generated Revenue Chairman, Olufemi Awakan; NBA President, Afam Osigwe; the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi; and legal figures such as Aare Afe Babalola (SAN), retired Justice Peter Olabisi Ige, Ahmed Raji (SAN), Wole Olanipekun (SAN), and the Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Yerima. Mutalubi praised the Ibadan branch as the “pacesetter” and the first formally organized bar association in Nigeria, highlighting its role in producing outstanding legal professionals in various fields.
