Equip our health sector now,HURIDE tells Nigerian leaders, presents cash to Mrs Roseline

The chairman of Human Rights, Liberty Access, and Peace Defenders’ Foundation (HURIDE), Dede Uzor A Uzor, has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari and the Governors to use the opportunity offered by Covid-19 to build Nigeria’s health sector.

Dede Uzor who was flagged with Comrade Chika Udemadu and other executives spoke yesterday when they handed over the donation made by members of his organisation for Ms Roseline Obi, a breast cancer patient in Onitsha, Anambra State.

He said there are a lot of sicknesses which kill Nigerians like fowls because of poor healthcare delivery in the country as well as abject poverty.

He said Covid -19 was a lesson to Nigerian leaders and elite who were rushing abroad for medical tourism, that the best way is to improve the healthcare system in their country, saying that since the outbreak of the pandemic no Nigerian leader dared travel abroad for whatever reason.

He lamented that failure of leadership has resulted in sicknesses which should not kill Nigerians wasting people’s lives.

He told Obi’s niece, Mrs Anulika Udoaku, who received the money on her behalf to use the money judiciously for her treatment .

Dede Uzor assured that they will not hesitate to invite her if there is further donation.

Obi who hails from Ogbunka coommunity in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State but resides at Okpoko, a sub of Onitsha has been down with breast cancer.

The sum of thirty eight thousand naira (N38,000) was handed over to Mrs. Udoaku.
