EPL: Rashford equals 10 years record with 30 goals

Manchester United Left Winger, Marcus Rashford equaled Robin van Persie club record of 30 goals in the 2012/2013 season on Thursday 25th May 2023 by scoring his 30th goal in all club competitions in the 2022/2023 season against Chelsea in Old Trafford.

Rashford who had come in from the substitute’s bench to replace injured Antony in the 29th minute of the first half extended his United side lead with the fourth goal in the 78th minute of the game, after some previous good and quite frustrating attempts. Chelsea center-back Fofana within his 18 yards box gave an indolent pass and bad ball execution which was intercepted by Sancho and given to Rashford for an easy finish.

However, a desperate and good attempt to save the shot was made by Chelsea goalie Kepa but wasn’t enough to prevent the Red Devils’ top goal scorer from having his name on the scoreboard. Thus, increasing his goal tally in the premier league to 17.
However, not only equalling the 10 years record, but the England international also made a record of being the only premier league player to score all the top six teams in the English Premier League this season with three goals against Arsenal, 2 goals at home, and 1 at the Emirates stadium. One goal each against Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City which were all scored in Old Trafford, and two goals against Tottenham Hotspur with one goal each at home and away.

With two final games left to play which are EPL match week 38 against Fulham on Sunday 28th May 2023 at Old Trafford and the FA Cup final against city rivals, Manchester City on 3rd June, in Wembley; many football pundits, supporters, and fanatics of the club and admirers of Rashford all over the globe are anticipating that the left winger, Marcus Rashford gets to break this record by getting more goals.
