Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has told the club’s manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, that he has done what the Red Devils signed him.

Ferdinand also insisted that now would be the time for Solskjaer to leave Man United, with his head held high.

According to him, Solskjaer, who joined Man United in 2018, can not deliver the Premier League or Champions League to the club this season.

Solskjaer is under intense pressure at Man United after a poor run of form in which they have lost four out of their last six Premier League matches.

He’s done actually what he’s been brought in to do. He’s come in and given the fans hope again, made the fans want to come back and watch your team again,” Ferdinand said on his Five with Vibe podcast.

“He’s done that – he’s done a great job in that sense but is he going to take us to win titles? Is he going to make us challenge to win a Champions League? Sitting here, I have to be honest with myself and say I think

He added: “The football club will be living here and breathing longer than any individual. It’s what’s best for this football club.

“I just feel that maybe it might be the time now for the baton to be handed over to take us on now. I think Ole would leave now with his head held high.”
