Enugu Philanthropist, Baywood Ibe feeds Over 1,000 Indigent Families, Distributes Bags of Rice, Vegetable Oil

A Nigerian entrepreneur, philanthropist and social activist, Emperor Chris Baywood Ibe has shared a bag of rice ,a parks of maggi cubes,no fewer than 1,050 bags of rice and a gallon of vegetable oil each to indigent men and women in the 21 communities that make up Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu state.
The renowned philanthropist , Ibe is a native of Isu-Awaa in Awgu Local Government Area, of Enugu state. He is the executive Vice chairman of Baywood Group, a Nigerian conglomerate involved in Oil & Gas, Engineering, Construction, Procurement, and Aviation.
The event took place at Ibe Family Event Arena, Isu-Awaa, Awgu.
According to him, the gesture is in honour of his parents who gave all they had for the downtrodden.
“It is a routine in the name of my parents who always take care of people especially the less privileged.
“It is all in the spirit of my late mother, Lady Ezinne Eunice Nwabugwu Ibe’s philanthropy. She likes alms giving, she gives out all that she has just to put smiles on the faces of the downtrodden.

“She does not like seeing any one hungry, I will describe her as mother Theresa, same with my father.They are people of same character in terms of alms giving.
“The main reason we are doing this is to commemorate the soul of my mother, her spirit, the legacies she left behind and that legacy is alms giving. My mother has passed on and today, we are honoring her departed soul .
“I know this could be her wish because she will not like to see me doing elaborate things and people are hungry. She will go out to look for those who have been deprived.
“In her honour, we can not celebrate what we want to celebrate and some peole are hungry .
” In celebrating the life she lived , we are going to feed 1050 indigent families in Awgu Local Government Area . This is not just only for Isu Awaa but for entire Awgu local government. We we selected 50 families in each community in Agwu local Goverment area .
‘We have 21 communities, We made sure we selected those families that can not afford anything to eat this Christmas.
“We don’t want any waste of food , we want to carry everyone along all in the spirit of my mother .
“We used a pressure group, Save Awgu Forum Enugu (SAFE) to choose from the masses propagate for libration of Awgu local government as part of Enugu . No name was given by me neither the coordinators but a communal selection .
Some of the beneficiaries, Luckas Udeagbara, Geraldine Madueke thanked the benefactor, Baywood Ibe for putting smiles on their faces.
“May God give him more life and ability to take care of us and his family. We pray that God will give him open doors in Jesus name”
