ENDSARS: Gov Sule, security’s,traditional rulers, clerics, hail PMB,others absent

Following the activities of the Hijack of  ENDSARS protesters over the weeks,that almost grounded National activities,by its spread across states of the federation, stakeholders, politicians, traditional rulers, religious leaders and the various ethnics and civil society organization’s met last week at the instance of the Nasarawa state governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule.

The one day dialogue of the stakeholders was designed and organised by the state government to nip in the board the circumstances surrounding the ENDSARS protest ,as well as profer solutions to how best Nasarawa state could resist the raising cases of insecurity,vis a vis support the efforts of security operatives , against the called to ENDSARS.

Stakeholders of various ethnic social backgrounds , politicians across political parties,religions ,head of security formations in the state,civil society organisations (CSOs) students  and others,all joined in the meeting.

However ,the absence of other notable stakeholders like ,Senator Abdullahi Adamu,Mr Labaran Maku,a former minister,senator Solomon Ewuga,Prof Onje Gyewado,Barrister Danladi Envulanza,senator Danso Sodangi ,some state and National Assembly members was observed by The Authority to have been absent.

The Authority revealed that senator Al-Makura,senator Godiya,former deputy governor,Silas Agara,state minister,science and technology,Barrister Abdullahi Mohammed,former and serving SSG and a host of others were present at the meeting.

Giving the importance of the one day dailogue ,the Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet Hall was full to the brim.

Governor , Engineer Abdullahi Sule in his opening remarks,stated that it was with a sense of responsibility that he address the stakeholder on the One-Day  Dialogue on the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force. 

He said,Nigeria is faced with security challenges occasioned by the activities of the ENDSARS protesters against the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force. 

“The activities of the ENDSARS have continued to pose security threats with attendant consequences on human lives and property, as well as the socio-economic development of the State and the country at large.  

“This is coming at a time when His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is committed to record unprecedented progress and development in all facets of human endeavours.

“We are gathered here today to appraise the present security challenge with a view to finding a lasting and sustainable peace, as well as fashion out modalities towards addressing the 5-Points Demand raised by the ENDSARS protesters.

“In an attempt to address the demands of the protesters, Government had in compliance with the Presidential directive, constituted Judicial Commission of Enquiry with a clear mandate as reflected in their terms of reference” Gov Sule’ said.

Engineer Sule’ further explained that  gathering will further afford  an opportunity to carefully look into the plights of the protesters as it relates to NasarawaState. 

According to him,It is pertinent to note that, the Federal Government under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has implemented different programmes targeted mostly on youths and women, as well as the most vulnerable groups in the society.

“This is in an effort to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in the next ten (10) years. 

” On our part as a State, this Administration made deliberate efforts towards the empowerment of our youths and women in line with our policies and programmes geared towards wealth creation, employment generation and poverty alleviation.He added.

Also,the   federal , minister,of state,for Science and technology,, Barrister Mohammed Abdullahi Hassan in a remark, unearth some of the measures already put on ground by the Federal government led administration of President Mohammadu Buhari,which he said we’re mapped out deliberately for the purpose of youth,women and disadvantage persons empowerment.

According to the state minister, Mohammed Abdullahi, president Mohammadu Buhari administration is focus on creating wealth for the Nation , especially among youths,hence the need for restrain on any form of violence.

The  meeting resolved in a communique and comended Mr President for his prompt intervention towards ending the ENDSARS protest ,as well as commended the governor of the state, Engineer Abdullahi Sule’pragmatism.

The communique,also commended the president’s drive on sustaining the  Npower,. Tradermoni, Farmersmoni among other youth empowerment scheme rolled out during the administration,which is aimed at engaging the unemployed and artisans, urging Nasarawa youths to take advantage of the available programmes  in the country.
