Emeka Offor Medical Donations Assists In Treating BH Victims – Unimaid CMD

Chief Medical Director of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Prof. Ahmed Ahidjo, has declared that the medical intervention from Chief Emeka Offor Foundation has assisted in dealing with some of the casualties of the Boko Haram uprising.

He stated this in Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, during the distribution of drugs to federal institutions by the foundation on Thursday.

21 health institutions across the six geopolitical zones, including the University Maidugiri Teaching hospital, benefited from the distribution.

The Chief Medical Director, who was represented by Dr. Chigozie Nwobi, said the intervention had really encouraged the hospital in reaching out to some Internally Displaced Persons and others with trauma.

Speaking during the presentation, the Coordinator of the foundation, Tony Obi, said the equipment, worth approximately N1bn, was distributed based on judicious use of the items by the beneficiaries after close monitoring in the last intervention.

“Since the over 18years existence of the foundation, it has focused on education, health and empowerment. Today is the second time we are distributing drugs to 21 selected health institutions within the six geopolitical zones.”

“It has become annual event. We are not biased, we sampled opinion of people around where the institutions were located. We have ways of monitoring the usage and those who judiciously used their without monetizing them have the chance of the second round” he said.
