Ekiti Govt Urges Monarchs to Collaborate on Resolving Land Disputes

The Ekiti State Government has called on traditional rulers across its 140 communities to unite and develop strategies to address rising inter-city land disputes. Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye made the appeal during a mediation session in Ado Ekiti concerning a land dispute between Esure and Ilomu communities in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area. Afuye urged the monarchs to prioritize unity and peaceful resolution, rejecting suggestions for arbitrary demarcation while tasking the Ekiti State Boundary Technical Committee to reassess and demarcate the disputed land. The government emphasized that land issues should not foster division, encouraging monarchs to adopt a spirit of compromise to maintain peace.
