Ejikeme gives scholarship to 63 students in Oba

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State on Political matters, Hon. Barr. Mrs. Ebele Ejikeme has doled out scholarship fund to 63 students of Oba origin.

The receipients include 22 students of Merchants of Light School(MLS), Oba; 21 students of Anglican Girls Secondary School(AGSS), Oba and 20 pupils of St Paul’s Primary School, Oba.

The beneficiaries were judiciously selected from the less privileged and brilliant students including the overall best student of the last academic year.

Speaking while presenting the cheques which covers tuition fees for this first academic term, Mrs Ejikeme said she was directed by God to embark on the project.

She said that the scholarship would continue until their graduation provided the students continue to be of good behavior and take their studies seriously.

“For the past 18years I have been giving succour to the less privileged, orphans and widows. I do pursue Justice for widows.

” You cannot take the property of a widow when I am around. I have authority from the Bible-Exodus 22:22,23 which reads you should not afflict a widow.

“You need Jesus Christ. No matter what you intend to achieve in life whether to be a doctor, lawyer, Engineer without Jesus in your life you are wasting your time”, said Ejikeme.

Moreover, at Anglican Girls Secondary School Oba, where Mrs Ejikeme was an alumnus( member of Old girls Association) she was quite nostalgic recounting many dignitaries that passed through the school.

She promised to give scholarship for University education to the overallocated best graduating student who passed his or her Jamb examination and gets admitted into the ivory tower.

Meanwhile, at St Paul’s primary and secondary school, the Anglican Archdeacon of Oba, Venerable Dave Udo-Ezika, the Principal, Rev. Ifeanyi Molokwu and Head teacher, Mrs Gozie Onwuemeli recieved the cheque with thanks.

Rev. Molokwu after expressing gratitude advised other people to emulate Mrs. Ejikeme saying that giving scholarship to the less pri vileged to eradicate illiteracy and reduce crime was better than killing cow during Yuletide.

At MLS, Oba, the Principal, Mr. ThankGod Ekwunife described the SSA as god sent helper who has become a blessing to the School, and the beneficiaries saying that such will bring healthy competition among students.

Also, “Principal AGSS, Oba, Mrs. Chinwe Anyabolu said that Ejikeme’s visit has revived the spirit of some students who sometimes have inferiority complex whenever they were with their friends schooling at some private schools.

However, a beneficiary, Miss Franca Chukwuwetalu, AGSS, Oba JSS 2 student after her vote of thanks prayed passionately for the donor asking God to grant her heart desires for helping to alleviate their Education burden.

Moreso, Mrs. Ejikeme promised special gifts for the best student of each subject, best teachers, and promised also to pay the Senior School Certificate Examination fees of those in her scholarship list.
