EFCC Seizes Trucks Transporting Illegal Solid Minerals in Benue

The Makurdi Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has intercepted eight trucks suspected of transporting illegally mined solid minerals in Benue State.

According to EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewole, the seizure occurred in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area. The minerals, believed to be fluorite and iron stones, were allegedly extracted from unauthorized mining sites in Logo LGA.

The Benue State government has intensified efforts to clamp down on illegal mining activities. Oyewole confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and those found culpable will be prosecuted.
