DEPENDABLE ACADEMY IMPROVES IMO ACADEMIC NARRATIVES-EKEIGWE

Last Saturday there was an aroma of festivity around Ikenegbu extension in Owerri capital territory of Imo State and its environ just because Dependable Academy was celebrating her 2021 graduands with pomp and pageantry..

The well attended occasion which was organized at the school architectural dignifying and neat complex in number 6 Arochukwu Street was nothing but fun, nostalgic with goose pimples as the pupils exhibited high sense of intelligence and wisdom in their performances.

Surprisingly, most of the parents, guardians and visitors were seen shedding tears of joy as they equally felt nostalgic of their ancient of days with intermittent excitements and responses.

In appreciation for their labour of love to the gifted children, they sprayed them money, hugged and kissed them. These were wizkids and teens in Crech, Learners,Pre-Nursey, Nursery and primary School pupils.

The school whose its Motto is ” Take the light and passed it on” held a joint graduands ceremony as their pacesetter branch at Dick Anukam lane, Area N, Zone 5, by Save the child Motherless Babies Home,World Bank Housing Estate, New Owerri participated actively with their numerical strength and classy indomitable courage of seniority.

In her opening remark Mrs Dorothy Ekeigwe the proprietor of the school who was ably represented by Mrs.Anthonia Madu, a board member expressed gratitude to parents, guardian and staff of the school for their dedication to duty and patriotism.

Ekeigwe said her vision of establishing the school in Nigeria is to help in positively change the academic narratives in the country especially in imo State having ran a similar institute in New York, USA for more than 16 years now.

She reassured of her commitment to sustain effecient, effective and qualitative education anchored with decent and hygienic environment as a replica of what’s being done at the parent school in United States of America.

In an address of welcome read by one of the graduands, little Miss Chisimdi Olebara, expressed gratitude to the teachers,the school and their parents for their commitments and dedications in providing for them.

According to her “to our teachers ! Wow ! You are wonderful. We love your care, patience, kindness and competence. You taught us morals and encouraged us to excel. We can now speak like the whites. Bravo ! To all Dependable Teachers.

To the Director of Dependable Academy ! Kudos to you for establishing and maintaining this great institution. You are doing a great job. Dependable Academy has been an unforgettable journey that has prepared us for the future. The years spent here have involved some of the most memorable moments of our lives.

The Arts and Crafts, Sports, Social day, ka anyi suo Igbo and moral instructions have been very impactful. We are truly grateful. We have taken the light, we promised to pass it on. On behalf of the graduands of today’s occasion, we once again welcome you all to this great occasion” she stated.

Similarly, in her address of welcome Lady Faustina Duruji, the Head Teacher of the school recall that the school started from New York in United States of America by Lady Dorothy Ekeigwe of Ahiazu Mbaise but married to Sir Dom Ekeigwe of Umueleke in Ehime Mbano council area of Imo state.

Duruji pointed out that the school was established out of the passion and vision of aiding young ones into intellectual and moral developments thus prompting the Director to establish the school first in Nigeria at the World Bank area of Owerri.

She also informed that the school since its inception has been a beacon of hope to learners and at the appreciation and admiration of parents and guardians.

The Head Teacher further said that apart from her school’s giant strides in academic, social and moral excellence, the school has advanced plans to ensure that by next academic session the school will be a centre for taking Common Entrance Examination.

Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of an Award of Excellence to two pioneer graduands of the school
Olewuike Daniel Dirichukwu and Ezeh Mildred Ihuoma.
