Covid-19: Worldwide Organisation for women visits TenderLove Orphanage

A group known as Worldwide Organization for Women (WOW International) on 9th of May, 2020 visited TenderLove Community Children’s Home, Awka to extend their motherly care for the orphans.

Worldwide Organization for Women (WOW) is an international non-denominational, non-profit, non-governmental organization that focuses in bringing all women to the understanding of their divine worth and influence in the Society. Their advocacy seeks to strengthen, support, and unite women and men of faith in order to create a peaceful environment that values the sanctity of human life, preserves the natural family, and fosters the worship of God.

WOW International holds a special Consultative status with the economic council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations in New York, Geneva and Africa.

Knowing the sterile situation of the economy due to the biting effects of lockdown occasioned by Corona Virus pandemic, WOW International South East Zone, Nigeria visited TenderLove Orphanage of No. 26 Ifite Road Awka, Anambra State to support them with palliatives, cash gifts and relief materials that will mitigate their suffering this period.

In the visit, South East Zonal Coordinator of WOW International, Mrs. Ethel Eruchalu in her opening speech thanked the management of TenderLove for their warm reception. She explained the reason for the visit and also WOW International mission of advocacy for the Women, Girl-child and the vulnerable in the society. She reeled out WOW International support for women in their valuable efforts of creating and maintaining their own stable/healthy family. Speaking further, she appreciated the efforts and motherly assistance of the President of WOW in Africa who also doubles as the Vice President of WOW International, Chief Mrs. Carol Ugochukwu (Akwaugo Ezenwanyi)

In her contribution, the South East Secretary of WOW International, Dr. Mrs Vero Okechukwu added that Worldwide Organization for Women has been at the forefront of organizing and reaching out to women by empowering the widows, the youths, the vulnerable in the society, preaching on violence against women and visiting schools for proper orientation to the young minds. She concluded by thanking the Executive Governor of Anambra State , Chief Willie Obiano for his proactive steps in keeping Anambra safe from covid-19 pandemic.

In conclusion, the WOW International South East Director of Programs, Mrs. Bennie Anene-Alison thanked the Director of TenderLove Homes for her resilience and strength in fighting for the orphans. On Covid19, she drew reference from “Psalm 91” to preach that it will never touch those who believe in God. She ended by appreciating the daughter of the WOW President Africa, Attorney Amaka Ada Akudinobi, and also the delegation that made sure the visit came to pass amidst the Country’s current situation.

The Director of TenderLove Home, Mrs. Helen Eze in her vote of thanks appreciated the delegation for identifying with Tender Love in this difficult period of Corona Virus pandemic. She prayed God to give Mrs. Carol Ugochukwu (VP WOW international / President WOW Africa) the strength, wisdom and grace to lead in the right direction that will glorify God. Using her as a point of contact, she prayed God’s blessings for everybody working for the betterment of women all over the world.
