Covid-19: Production By Pascal Osubor Of ABS Ranked in Best Ten Globally By UNESCO

A short video on combating misinformation and disinformation on Covid-19 pandemic produced by the Director of Studies of Anambra Broadcasting Service Film Academy, Pascal Osubor has emerged among the best ten productions globally.

The short video was produced in response to a call by the World Headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO for people across the globe to produce jingles or short videos that will focus on messages that will curb the increasing conspiracy theories, misinformation and disinformation against Covid-19.

The video was selected as number seven by UNESCO.

It is worthy to note that only two Nigerians made it to the top ten amongst the videos or jingles selected.

Also, this door opened other doors for Mr Osubor who is a multi-talented and multiskilled content producer and On Air Personality with ABS as he was also selected to attend for free a two week Summer Programme of UNESCO’s Centre for Peace.

At the Summer Programme, Mr Osubor also participated in a Smart Phone Film Festival organized by the UNESCO Centre for Peace in collaboration with AM ONE TV and Artisan Festival International World Peace Initiative where he also came third globally for a movie production titled “Humans” which he shot and edited with a smart phone.

Mr Osubor says the recognitions which are his first back-to-back international recognitions has opened the door of opportunities for creative production for him in the State and as well in telling fiction and non-fiction stories through the smart phone.

Reacting, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Anambra Broadcasting Service, Chief Uche Nworah showed excitement over the recognition and said the awards project the repositioning that have occurred in the last six years in ABS, to move from a mere local broadcasting organisation to a digital, multi-media and entertainment brand.

He praised the support received from Governor Willie Obiano in ensuring that ABS meets international standards through the building of a new digital studios and establishment of the first state media fully funded film academy.
