COVID-19: Pillar of Sports urges sportsmen, women, Nigerians to follow directives

The Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, has called on sportsmen, women and Nigerians in general to follow government’s directives and protocols on how to stop the spread of the dreaded Corona Virus.

This was contained in a statement from the office of the Pillar of Sports, on Wednesday in Ilorin.

Chief Ejidike, called on Nigerians to regularly and thoroughly clean their hands with hand rub sanitizers or wash them with soap and water.

“Washing your hands with soap and water or using hand rub sanitizers kills viruses that may be on your hands” He said.

The Business Tycoon also asked Nigerians to maintain social-distancing, at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between self and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.

“When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus.

“If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease” Chief Ejidike added.

The philanthropist said the responsibilities to triumph over this global challenging moment rest on everyone’s shoulder by avoiding large gathering of people and stay at home to avoid the spread of the virus.

“Contracting the virus is not a death sentence, so I like to appeal to you all not to find yourself in a state of depression because of the information around the spread of the virus.

“What we can do on our part is to ensure we follow protocols to stop its spread.

“Once we observe the protocols, the world will be a peaceful place and we can all go back to the pitch, track, courts and even our businesses again” Ejidike said.
