Covid-19: Anambra State University donates medical equipment to Anambra State

The management of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, has donated medical facilities to the state government to help in preventing COVID-19 from entering into Anambra state.


The Vice Chancellor, Professor Greg Nwakobi led the delegation to the office of the Secretary to the state Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, where the presentation was made.


Items donate were three thousand hand gloves, twenty pieces of booths, one thousand pieces of face masks, ten pieces of infrared thermometer and one thousand pieces of two hundred and fifty ml of hand sanitizers produce by the university.


Presenting the items, Professor Nwakobi said it is part of their corporate social responsibility and community development services to support the state government in a time like this to ensure safety of people of the state.

He said they will still produce enough quantity of the sanitizers and face masks which they will distribute to students and communities around them.


Receiving the items, Professor Chukwulobelu appreciated the University management for the gesture and expressed satisfaction that some of the items were produced by the university, urging them to keep it up.


Professor Chukwulobelu reminded the people of the need to maintain social distancing, wash their hands regularly and to always use hand sanitizers.


The Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala, Deputy Vice Chancellor Admin, Professor Solomon Ekwenze, and Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics COOU, Professor Ellis Idemobi among others were present at the event.
