COVID-19: Anambra State Govt Cautions Teachers, Schools

As parts of measures to prevent the Spread of the COVID 19 pandemic in both Private and Public Schools in Anambra state, teachers have been warned to desist forthwith from organizing lessons either in Private or Public schools to avoid the long arm of the law.

The Commissioner for Basic education, Professor, Kate Omenugha gave the warning while interacting with ABS correspondent, Festus Obierika.

Commissioner Omenugha who thanked the State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano for his efforts in tackling the spread of the pandemic said the Governor is well prepared for it and described him as one of the Governor’s fighting the disease with utmost sincerity and honesty.

She urged Ndi Anambra to continue to support him by heeding to the state government’s and WHO directives in order to be safe and alive.

Professor Omenugha further called on parents who allow their children to go to lessons to avoid exposing them to danger, and urged them to use the period of staying at home to monitor their activities while reminding them that they have a lot of work to do regarding the growth and morals of their children and wards.

The Commissioner, who lauded the teachers for their efforts, since the outbreak of the pandemic, urged them to be putting down trainings that would help them manage the students through the period of the pandemic until schools eventually resume.
