Court Awards N15m to Rivers Community Over EFCC Invasion

A Rivers State High Court has awarded N15 million in damages to Koko-Ama community over a 2023 EFCC-led invasion during an anti-bunkering operation.

Justice Rita Oguguo ruled the EFCC had no legal grounds to raid the entire community and ordered the withdrawal of police personnel within 24 hours. The community had initially demanded N100 billion in compensation.
