Court Adjourns Sentencing of TikToker Murja Kunya Over Naira Abuse

A Federal High Court in Kano has adjourned the sentencing of TikTok star Murja Ibrahimi Kunya to May 20 after the EFCC sought to amend the charge against her.
Murja, who pleaded guilty to spraying and dancing on N400,000 at a party in December 2024, faces a one-count charge of Naira abuse. The defence opposed the amendment, citing fairness concerns, but Justice Simon Amobeda allowed it in the interest of justice. She remains under bail conditions pending the next hearing.
