COOU VC, Omenugha, Husband Offer Special Thanks To God At Saint Paul’s Church, Nnobi
Saint Paul’s Catholic Church, Nnobi in Idemili South Local Government Area, was filled to the brim last Sunday as the Vice-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Professor Kate Omenugha, held a thanksgiving Mass in appreciation to God for her appointment and to mark the 70th birthday celebration of her husband, Dr. Michael Omenugha.
In a homily, the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Reverend Jonas Benson Okoye, who presided over the thanksgiving Mass, emphasized thanksgiving as a pathway to greater blessings, urged Anambra residents to join hands with the state government to reclaim the state from erosion by avoiding acts that cause it, and wished the celebrants more of God’s blessings.
In her remarks, one of the celebrants, Professor Omenugha, who was full of joy, expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for His faithfulness, wisdom, and strength in piloting the affairs of the University since she was inaugurated.
Professor Omenugha appreciated the Visitor, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, for her appointment as Vice-Chancellor of COOU, and the support of the university management, staff, and students, emphasizing that every recorded success of the institution since she became its Vice-Chancellor is a product of collective effort and divine grace.
On his part, one of the sons of the celebrants, Dr. Nelson Omenugha, who described his parents as precious gifts to him, said that the occasion was a big opportunity for them to thank God for His goodness in their lives and to demonstrate gratitude to all those who have played a role in one way or the other in the success of their family.
In an interview, the Chairman, Southeast Branch of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Lady Ada Chukwudozie; the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie; and the Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, Dr. Maureen Umehakuewulu, wished the celebrants abundant blessings ahead, favour, and divine upliftment in all their endeavours.
