COMRADE OBINNA IJEOMAH EMERGES AS NEW UNIZIK SUG PRESIDENT
Mr. Obinna Charles Ijeomah of Department of Accountancy has just been voted as the new President, Students’ Union Government of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. In a keenly contested election held electronically on Saturday, February 5th, 2022, Mr. Ijeomah polled a total of 1717 votes to defeat four other contestants.
Ifunanya Jessica Okoye was elected as the Vice President seeing off her opponent Chidimma Chukwudiebube. Joel Abraham Ogbonnaya and Chiemerie Chinanu Ezeokeke were elected unopposed as the Secretary and the Assistant Secretary respectively.
The electoral process was monitored in the situation room which is domiciled at the Students Affairs unit by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone, FAS, FPSN; the Dean, Student Affairs, Engr. Prof. Chinonso Achebe; the UNECO Secretary, Dr. Dereck Orji; Chief Safety Officer, Chief Ken Chukwurah; Coordinator UNIZIK Alumni, Dr. Nwachukwu Obiakor, other UNECO members and representatives of various aspirants.
